Artist Statement

Living in the Pacific Northwest, my art is deeply influenced by nature. I walk in the forest daily and allow ideas to flow. I love observing the colors and textures of the seasons as they change and I see those colors repeated in my work.

I like to stretch conventional boundaries and my quilts reflect that feeling. I break the borders with leaves and fibers,  bind my work with curving edges; anything to go beyond the confinement of the rectangle.

As an artist, I am dedicated to exploring different forms of expression. My goal is to meld new techniques and modern products with the age-old art of quilting. Through the use of beads, fibers, and free form quilting, I strive to create a rich texture and a dynamic image.
